Every cult needs a god. Every god demands a domain. And every domain festers with creatures, relics, and secrets that your players were never meant to find.
Dark Visions is an 84-page expansion for the Shadowdark RPG built around one of the oldest threats in fantasy gaming: the cult. But this isn’t a monster manual entry with a robe and a dagger. Sixteen fully realized Cult Domains — Archon, Ash, Nightmares, Symmetry, and twelve more — each come with their own write-up, rumor and encounter tables, plot generators, magic items, and dedicated creatures. Pick a domain, drop it into your campaign, and you’ve got an entire faction ready to move against the party.
Three new classes give players a seat at the dark table. The Cultist is a full caster with 25 new spells and access to fringe rituals. The Inquisitor hunts heretics using Marks of Judgement. The Knight of the Covenant pledges blade and spellcraft to the lawful ideals of the Covenant Council. They can work together, work against each other, or slot into any existing party.
Dark Visions also includes two stand-alone adventures — In Cultists’ Wake and As Above, So Below — that follow an occult trail into dank dungeons where the Leviathan’s Cult of Nightmares is on the move. Run them individually or string them together with The Tower of Six companion zine to form a three-adventure campaign spanning levels 1–4.
